IRENE Aftermath Threatens Foxboro Flyball Tournament

Widespread power outages in the Northeast caused by Hurricane Irene are currently affecting the venue where the Jump Masters have booked “Survivor 2011” Flyball Tournament. Reports indicate that as much as 86% of Foxboro is without electrical service. The National Grid is reporting that restoration begins Wednesday and will be mostly completed by Friday with the remaining customers restored by Sunday.

In the meantime, the Jump Masters are planning to go ahead and hold the event since the site owner has not withdrawn permission to use the venue even without power. The EJS can be powered with gas driven generators and doors and skylights can be opened to illuminate the facitlity with natural light. The site owner has answered that they have no issue with occupancy and the fire code.

A final decision will be made later on this week.
